The Scriptures
The Bible is Gods inspired word, given through various people over time. Its purpose is to draw us to Him, both through the “historical” accounting of His interaction with humanity as well as a demonstration of His love for those He created. The Bible however, is not a comprehensive record of all God has to say or do, nor is it simply a “manual” to direct one’s life. Instead it serves as a snapshot, revealing an image of God and His Kingdom. The real power of the text is not to be found solely in solitary study, but through community struggle, discussion, and understanding of the scriptures and their implication on our lives.
(2 Tim 3:15, 17; 1 Pet 1:23-25; Heb 4:12).
