Our Name
DISTILLATION – “The extraction of the volatile components of a mixture by the condensation and collection of the vapors that are produced as the mixture is heated.” (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/distillation)
Many people ask us why we chose the name Distillery for a church. Well there are many good reasons for this, but most importantly is the idea that the name refers to a place where liquids go through a process of sorts. Not to be redundant, but In a distillery the process of distillation occurs.
Being grounded in the conviction that God exists, is present in our lives, and is regularly about the business of changing us from within into better humans, we believe that our lives, in a sense become very much like the process of distillation.
Sometimes it is painful to go through the process, but we know that the results in the end will be good. Here at the DISTILLERY we are committed to the idea that no one should go through the process alone. So we, who are all in the process of distillation, welcome all who will come and embark on that journey with us in the hopes of finding valuable friendships along the way, and reflecting the image of God in community.
